Tuesday's family-friendly budget fulfilled all the tax pledges
made by the federal Conservatives and threw in a couple of
surprises
... families like Anita and Ken Wilks of Port
Moody.
They see their big break as the universal child-care benefit
which, starting in July, will provide $100 a month to help
with the $600 daycare bill for their four-year-old son, Evan,
although Anita was disappointed the benefit will be taxable
in the hands of the lowest-income spouse...
